Ginger-Sesame Dressing

Ginger-Sesame Dressing
This turned out amazing! I actually used it as the dresing for a slaw, which we had by itself and also as a condiment on a pork sandwich, using this same dressing to warm/marinade the pork with. Thank you Taste Of Home magazine for the awesome idea!

Total yield is 1 Cup.

Can replace with vanilla extract to make this kid friendly & gluten free.

*You'll know the mixture is boiling when you see lots of tiny looking bubbles and the mixture starts to rise. I started the timer a few seconds after the bubbles started and then it came to a full blown boil.

** If you get any “clumps” while/after cooling, just whisk until smooth again!

*** Caramel can be stored in the fridge for two weeks.

Instructions
  1. Dump it all in a sauce pan, heat to a simmer, stirring frequently. Give the seasonings a half hour or more to cook together, then taste and add more of whatever as needed. Just remember - Oregano gets stronger as it cooks, so you need to have plenty of time to let it cook and release the oils, or you can easily get too much!
  2. If you want - I do - use a blender or hand mixer to smooth out the sauce a bit.
Recipe Notes

Each serving is ~1/2 C.
